THE SEACH FOR CHRIST

The gift of our faith is the most precious aspect of our lives.  Our faith in Christ is the source of all our needs and wants.  Whatever we are searching for in our lives for fulfillment, peace, reconciliation and hope—we can only satisfy when we find Christ.  To find the Lord, we need to search for Him and run to Him.  This is done by searching, asking, questioning and letting go of other things so that we can find Jesus.  Faith is not a passive activity and required that we each help one another along the pilgrimage of faith.

WHAT CAN WE GIVE CHRIST?

Fr. John begins this new message series as we draw to the end of the Christmas season but also starting a new year. Whatever we are searching for in our lives—Christ is who we really are searching for. The Three Wise Men teach us how we should begin the search for Jesus in our lives and world.

HOMILY #2
WHO BRINGS US TO CHRIST?

Fr. John continues the message series reminding us that we are brought to Christ by others around us. Eli guides Samuel to God in the first reading while John the Baptist leads Andrew to Jesus and then Andrew brings his brother Peter to Christ. May we always be aware of those around us who can truly help us encounter Jesus and may we bring others to Jesus by what we say and do.

HOMILY #3
CHANGING DIRECTION
& RESPONDING TO THE CALL

Fr. John concludes the message series reminding each of us that Jesus calls us to be fishers of people who bring others to Him. We need to trust and respond like Jonah, Simon, Andrew, James and John in the readings today. When we encounter Jesus we change direction and live differently—focusing on what is eternal and that which never fades away.
