St. George Parish welcomed 2 preachers for the 2018 Advent Parish Mission entitled–“MAKING STRAIGHT THE PATH”
DEACON BRIAN MCDONALDDeacon Brian McDonald was part of the first diaconate ordination class in the Diocese of London. He has been serving at St. Peter’s Parish in Goderich and most of the Huron-Perth Deanery since ordination. Deacon Brian has had many careers including OPP dispatcher, car sales, operating a fruit stand and is currently a court services officer in addition to his parish ministry. Unfortunately, he is a Montreal Canadians fan and had to endure Fr. John Jasica as his pastor for five years. His experience, wisdom, humour and life will help us understand the importance of Advent and making straight the path to Jesus at Christmas!!! JULIAN PAPARELLAJulian grew up as a member of St. George Parish. He currently lives in Montreal but calls St. George home when he comes to visit his family. This faith-filled young man has studied in Paris, France and McGill University. He has worked in parish ministry and is a part time staff member of Salt & Light Catholic Media. Julian most recently had the privilege of not only attending the Synod of Bishops in Rome this past October, but as one of 35 young people from around the world, shared his vision of the Church working and empowering young people with Pope Francis and over 200 bishops. Julian’s faith, service and hope will inspire us to truly experience the heart of Christmas.
